About the artist: Kate Clair is a teacher of graphic design, branding and typography at Kutztown University. Her background is in sculpture and printmaking as well as art history. She currently makes collages from found items, paints and enjoys gardening, yoga and music. Inspiration for t shirt design:
The quilt auction of regional quilts is a huge feature of the Kutztown Folk Festival. The Quilt Barn displays the quilts beforehand for anyone interested in bidding on an heirloom piece. Having the flowers that are blooming up all around the grounds of the festival springing forth from a single quilt square brings together the outdoors and the traditional textile arts.
